What does a Dutch journalist database subscription cost in 2026?

De Perslijst from PR-Dashboard costs EUR 2,650 per year for two logins, as listed on the product pages read on 1 September 2026. The price is published as an annual amount and includes two users. That gives a cost per user per year of EUR 1,325.

For comparison, a one-month subscription to the same database costs EUR 350, also read on the same date. The annual plan is the standard way to buy a journalist database for ongoing press relations work in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Several competing platforms that sell journalist databases also publish prices. ANP Connect sells a database-only plan for EUR 2,990 per year, according to its tariff page read on 31 August 2026. That plan does not state how many logins it includes.

Prezly Essential, which includes a media list feature, costs EUR 100 per month or EUR 1,200 per year for one user. Mynewsdesk Essential starts at EUR 220 per month or EUR 2,640 per year for an unspecified number of users. The price gap between these options is small when measured per user per year.

Many other tools in this category do not publish a price at all. Prowly, Cision and Meltwater do not list amounts on their public pages, measured on 31 August 2026. That makes it hard to compare them directly on cost. The vendors that do show prices allow a buyer to check the yearly subscription cost before contacting sales.

How does a database subscription compare to paying per press release?

A subscription to De Perslijst gives a team unlimited access to journalist contacts and sending tools for one year. Paying per press release is a different model. ANP Connect charges EUR 1,395 for a single press release distribution to media in both the Netherlands and Belgium, as shown on its tariff page read on 31 August 2026.

Sending to Dutch media only via the ANP network costs EUR 795 per release. B2Press charges EUR 400 for a basic press release distribution to the Netherlands, EUR 750 for the Wire option and EUR 1,950 for an Exclusive distribution, according to its pages read on the same date.

A team that sends ten press releases per year at the standard ANP Connect rate for Dutch and Belgian media would spend EUR 13,950. That is more than five times the cost of a De Perslijst annual subscription for two users. The database subscription also allows the team to contact journalists directly, build targeted media lists and send follow-up messages without paying per message.

The per-release model works for occasional one-off announcements, but the recurring cost quickly surpasses a subscription for teams that do regular media outreach.

The reach question is also about access. A database subscription includes the full journalist database. A per-release distribution goes to the media list that the distribution service maintains.

The FAQ page of the Amsterdam supplier states its database holds thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists and covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, read on 1 September 2026. That coverage is part of what the subscription buys.

The supplier states that its database covers virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders, not the whole of Belgium. That distinction matters. Flanders is the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium.

A database that includes both the Netherlands and Flanders gives access to roughly 27 million Dutch speakers across both countries, according to general population data. The product pages do not mention Walloon or Brussels media, so a team that needs French-language Belgian journalists would need a separate source.

The phrase thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists is the vendor's own description from the FAQ page read on 1 September 2026. A database that covers all national newspapers, regional newspapers, trade publications, broadcast stations and online outlets in the Netherlands and Flanders is the standard for PR work in this region. Teams that work with specific sectors can filter the database by beat, region or outlet type.

The subscription includes the ability to build and save custom media lists.

For comparison, Mynewsdesk does not publish a Dutch-language page at all. Its five language editions are German, English, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, measured on 31 August 2026. A Dutch team using Mynewsdesk would work in English or another supported language.

Prezly hosts its data on AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin, which is outside the Netherlands. Presspage names Germany as its data location. The product pages state that all development and hosting take place in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers, with no named hosting party or certification, read on 1 September 2026.

Integrations can add value or cost. How to choose a journalist database for your Dutch PR team in 2026

Start with the media markets you need. That database covers the Netherlands and Flanders, which is the right scope for a Dutch team that also targets the Flemish press. If you need Belgian French-language media, you need a different source.

If your press outreach is occasional, a per-release service like ANP Connect or B2Press may be cheaper for a low volume of distributions. If you send press releases regularly and also contact journalists directly for story pitches, a database subscription is more economical.

Check the number of users. The Amsterdam database includes two logins for EUR 2,650 per year. That suits a small communications team.

For larger teams, the monthly option at EUR 350 per month for one user gives flexibility, but the annual plan is the better value per login. The Prezly Essential plan at EUR 100 per month includes one user. Mynewsdesk does not specify how many users its EUR 220 per month plan covers on the pages we measured, 31 Aug 2026.

ANP Connect does not state logins for its database-only plan. If your team has more than two people, ask each vendor how much an extra user costs.

Look at where your data sits. The platform hosts everything in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers. Prezly uses AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin.

Presspage names Germany as its data location. Some Dutch government and semi-public organisations have data residency requirements. That may be enough for a compliance check, depending on your organisation's policy.

Finally, evaluate the total cost over a year including the tools you already use. The journalist database integrates with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep. If your team already pays for media monitoring from one of those providers, the single sign-on saves time and reduces the chance of missing a story.
